Set up to supply firms with the software architectures and platforms used by Icona for the leading Italian on-line Internet services, this department draws on all the experience the company has acquired in software engineering techniques and investments in methods for re-utilising software.

The capacity to rationalise our OFS platform along technological lines resulting in a basic framework suitable for all community and business applications requiring “messaging” and “presence awareness” has once again placed us in a winning position, so that we can now offer firms the chance to personally manage their own OFS according to their own real market requirements.

Most IT organisations working on creating Internet applications are usually overcome by the need to provide access to a high number of on-line users and, at the same time, by having to make considerable investments in hardware architecture.

To cater for every possible functional requirement, we have created SDK for setting up a Win32 or Java Client , Agent for conveying targeted contents, and Peer Authentication for managing the DB/OFS relation.

In addition, problems connected with certain protocols being blocked by firewalls and proxy servers have been solved by creating a special Tunnelling product.
