The Internets interconnection potential allows
the use of increasingly sophisticated technologies.
Internet users needs are growing in scope
and range.
This is why Icona has developed technology capable of handling
video mailing devices making the service compatible with any PC
connected to the Web.
Users connecting through the Web download an HTML
page containing a dedicated object. Permission to use the system
resources is automatically requested.
This procedure lets the programme manage multimedia
resources, such as a TV camera, microphone and speakers for storing
away the film clip and playback of it.
The film clip is transferred to the server, while
a hypertext link (referred to by the film clip itself) is stored
in a specially created mail site.
The person receiving mail can consult the text and, should they
so desire, select the link.
The programme located over on the server side checks
the request is in order and visualises an HTML page for viewing
the film.
System access figures provide complete control of the production
system.
The scalability of the design is the real key to operating efficiency.
