Service name: web scuola - client: Tin

This project was designed to create the operating parts of WebScuola, Tin.it on-line community of Italian schools created in conjunction with the Ministry of Education.

Webscuola brings together a vast array of Italian primary and middle schools involving thousands of pupils and teachers competing on interdisciplinary topics to win lots of prizes.

There are lots of events, which will help pupils and teachers gain confidence in exploiting the Internet’s enormous potential for learning and teaching.

Icona helped create the WebScuola site, taking care of all the operating parts to allow the various activities to be carried out, which are grouped together in four macro site areas; open classroom, the profession of schooling, teaching resources, and after-school hours.

The architecture used is SUN/Solaris: Apache for the Web server; PHP for the scripting parts; and, lastly, MySQL for managing the site data.
